Have fun in Arizona you guys. I'm supposed to drag smoker out to our site too. Lets hope it isn't as hot as last year. I hope to finally make contact with some of my long DX friends in AZ this year.

I will be there with my FT-450, paddles, 12AVQ antenna and coax. I will also bring a laptop for logging. What logging software are we using? The only thing I need is access to power.

Food? I will come up with something (that mama will cook and send with me). I will be coming up Friday afternoon.

I am looking forward to this.

Steve

Are we going to be in the Tonto National Forest? If so, they have burn restrictions in place since the 11th. That includes fire-pits, and charcoal fired BBQs. I plan on cooking all the meat on Thursday and re-heating on Saturday. I've done it before it for pulled-pork it tastes just as good. However, if there are no fire restrictions I may cook on-site....

The 2010 4x4 Ham Field Day site is in Coconino NF, no current fire restrictions. Check current status at: http://www.fs.fed.us/r3/coconino/conditions/index.shtml#firerestrictions.

A thought... since we have fire restrictions, we can use propane powered stoves. Something else that would be helpful are propane powered barbecue grills if someone is able to bring one or two along.

Oh, and I gave us a little press on Maricopa360.com in the Ham Radio section: http://forum.maricopa360.com/index.php/topic,3273.0.html

For anyone leaving tonight or tomorrow morning, check the ADOT site. Hwy. 87 is currently closed at the Bush Hwy for a fire.

Save the firewood. I believe there are now fire restriction in Coconino as well.
