TNX for the warm welcome!
Just stumbled onto your website from the link on Southgate ARC News.
We on the Outer Banks of North Carolina are fighting for beach access against the National Park Service, Southern Environmental Law Center and Defenders of Wildlife.
One of the major players in this is the Outer Banks Preservation Association: http://obpa-nc.org/joomla/
And heres a video we made about it: http://vimeo.com/14696293
I also posted a couple of links to your group on two of the more active boards down there:

There are a few hams here that combine the two hobbies. Just bouncing the HT on the front seat now, but I should get busy on a permanent installation.
Some of the hams here got interested after Hurricaine Isabel cut Hatteras Island in two in '03, and amateur communications was the only way of passing traffic back and forth to the Island.
We are basically a long sandbar 30 miles out in the Atlantic, so when the next "Big One" comes, I expect we'll be the only mode of communications again.

Awesome. Welcome to the group and thanks for advertising us on the other sites. That's an interesting video. We have to fight trail closures here in AZ to save the desert tortise, but the stories sound similar.
Ham radio and fishing sounds like fun. We did use a sinker on a fishing reel to get our antennas over the pine trees during Field Day. It would be cool to see APRS used to mark hot fishing spots or something like that.
