Participants were guided in by APRS, linked talk-in repeaters and signs in the final miles on the forest trail. I learned a lot about field antenna masts, satellite operation, how to fit a lot of gear into Jeeps and about off-road trailers to carry what will not fit into a Jeep.
The best kept secret was the surprise catered BBQ dinner and open bar. 4x4 HAMs could raise a lot of money by selling tickets and souvenirs for the next Field Day event.
Thanks to everyone!

Thank you George. It was nice to finally meet you and I'm glad you were able to join us. The 4x4 Hams always know how to have a good time.
PS. I moved this to Past Events from the Upcoming Events forum.

Can't wait for next year!
Can't wait for next year!
x2!!
I'd like to do more operating events. The fun from this weekend had me thinking about planning another Titan Missile Museum trip this fall to use their discone antenna.

My son and I had a great time, too. Even though we didn't stay long, it was very fun. I'm already putting together my shopping list for next year's field day.
One question. Is anyone posting pictures of the event on this or some other site?

Good for her! The way she was snapping up all those FD contacts and the fun it looked like she was having made me wonder if she would go down that road.
