There are several ways to get to Table Mesa Road from New River Road, this run will use two of them. The first leg of the run is stock friendly, but low clearance or long wheel base may be a problem in a couple of areas. The second leg of the run, from Table Mesa back to New River Road, is a little more difficult; and from what I remember of it, Arizona Pinstripping is very likely. If you feel comfortable running the Sunflower Mine Loop in your vehicle, you will have no problem with the second leg. Most of the second leg is eaiser than Sunflower Mine Loop, but if you can run the Sunflower Mine Loop, you will be able to get through the hard parts on the second leg.
You don't have to run the second half of the route, those who choose can get back to I-17 from Table Mesa Road.
We will be passing through some State Land Trust areas , so you should have a valid State Land Trust permit with you.

Meetup will be at New River Road and Carefree Highway at 7:30 AM.

Talk-in Frequency is 147.24 MHz +600 offset 162.2 Hz PL tone. This repeater has coverage for most of the trail if you need to contact somebody in town.

We had a great run today. The run was well within the capabilities of all those who attended, but still challenged each of us. My thanks to :
Bob Hall
Virgil, K7VZ
Paul, N1HX
Ron
Randy, KC0NNT
David, K7DCL
and my co-Pilot, Tanya, KF7FAJ
for joining me on the first leg of the New River Road to Table Mesa Road Run. This was an easy run with good scenery and better company. We hd a couple of challenges on this leg and everyone was up to the task.
We stopped for lunch a little bit after 11:00AM. After lunch, Virgil, K7VZand Paul, N1HX left us and the rest of us continued to the second leg of the run.
The second leg of the run was much more difficult than the first, but all of those that tackled it came through with flying colors! This section of the run included a sharp right turn at the top of a hill where the road was not visible and a waterfall on a steep downhill section where all the participants slid down a waterfall on a steep decline.
The particpiants on the seond leg of the run were:
Ron
Bob Hall
Randy,KC0NNT
David, K7DCL
All of these participants came through with flying colors!

This was a good run because it was well within the capabilities of all participants, it provided a challenge for all participants, and there was great comradery between all participants.

*so jealous*

FANTASTIC writeup too. I don't think I've ever seen that level of detail and mapping/planning!

You guys make me really want time to fast forward a bit so my tax refund is in hand and I can get some new tires and rock sliders installed so I can get back to wheeling too!

Thank you. I put a lot of time into planning and mapping out that route, and it paid off because everyone enjoyed the run. I hope you join us on future runs.
