Eventually, we'll embed it into the main page and link it there.

Experimenting with a different chat room product. http://www.4x4ham.com/misc.php?do=flashchat

This one uses your username/password from the site and allows embed into our site instead of opening a new window. Test it out and feedback is appreciated.

I tried it out, but in all honesty, I liked the old chat better. The old chat is lightweight, fast, and easy. The new chat seems bloated and slow with a flashy (no pun intended) interface. I like how on the old chat you can set your own screen name. Seems the new chat uses your login as your screen name. One request for Classic Chat, please.

Would be better if it used the logged in user name without the extra login, don't like having to login again to use the chat.

It's supposed to use your 4x4 Ham account and auto log you in. I think there may be some additional configuration I need to work out, because that doesn't seem to be working quite right. This new one isn't as simple/small footprint as the old one, but it has a ton of customizable features. I'll play around with it for a while and if it isn't going to work, we'll keep the old one.

Reasons I was wanting to migrate to flash chat.
1. It uses your 4x4 Ham account and should auto log you in.
2. It's ability to be embedded into the site.
3. Tons of other management features.
4. We can add other rooms, etc.

All of those are good reasons. Let's beat it into the shape we want.
