Hello everyone, I'm new to this forum. I started off-roading last summer and recently got back into ham radio (I've had my ticket since 1990, but was inactive for a while). I was pleased to find a site dedicated to connecting 4x4 and ham radio together. It looks like this is primarily a site for Arizona. I looked in the regional sections of the forum, but in the 0 sector there hasn't been a post for 7 months. I'm in Northern Colorado and hoping to do some off-roading with other Hams when season starts. I'm specifically interested in a the possibility of doing field day in Roosevelt National Forest and participating in the Colorado 14er event.

Anyone out there from Northern Colorado?

Thanks to those responsible for creating and maintaining this site!

Moderators: I know this probably belongs in the regional section but there isn't any activity there and I didn't want to double post so I put it in general discussion.

Thanks,

kd0fds is from Colorado.

One of the cool things 4x4ham.com offers is a live internet stream of the weekly meetings. It is fun to listen in even if you can't check in.

Hello Kb0hbm,
Well, I am in AZ but do know that there is a very active ham and off-road group in the Denver area. The club is the "Rising Sun Toyota 4X4 Club" Many of the members are hams as they found that amateur radio is much better on the trails than CB. I suggest you take a look at their site. <www.risingsun4x4club.org>. One event that they are involved in is the Cruise Moab event in May. Toyota off-roaders come from all over the country to do the Moab trails with the club. Very well organized.
