Looks like pretty much same rules as last year. Same plan as last year, with focus on NTS message traffic and satellite ops?

At just over 9 months old by Field Day, Evan will be taking the Element 2 test and will also assist with the under age 18 QSO count.

Awesome. I'll bring 3 towards the under 18 count. And hopefully Mrs. K and one or two of the kids will test for Tech...that's the plan, at least.

Antennas....
Might be able to borrow 34' of aluminum truss for Field day, there's 2 sections of 11' and 2 of 6' then a 20" section.
My thought is take this 20" section & dedicate fabricate something to it that can hold an antenna. Well also need some guy wires to help keep this steady could possibly use the XJ to help support this but I'm in the market for a newer vehicle and if all goes well I may have that at field day.
At our monthly meeting we did discuss Field day, KE7TXQ you'll need to provide that BBQ pulled pork again (last years pot luck sucked) *note* this is meant in good humor... to a point bring the pork. :P
We also discussed antennas we all seemed to agree that a Vertical or Di-pole would be good for all around listening and maybe a beam to get the extra umph thru pile ups. We also have the 6m beam as well.
So does anyone have a multi band yagi we can use along with a rotor? OR does anyone have any other ideas or suggestions?
Either way we need to jump on this ASAP and get stuff in motion, that 7QSO party on May 5th would be a GREAT weekend to test antennas & setups and work out any bugs prior to the big weekend.

I'll probably toss my loop in the back of the truck and bring it. You can make it directional by picking it up and moving it around. :) I figured it might be useful for nighttime NVIS work on 40m.

Looking at the pictures from last year it looks like you have bunches of 100' towers around there. Remember it is very easy to hang beams between trees if you have some way to get a rope over the trees; Bow & arrow, potato gun, slingshot, etc... At the RST FD on Mt. Lemmon we have hung some big beams in the trees, no tower or rotor needed.

Oh, should have VE status by then (currently a general) so unless i flunked the open book review, I'll be available if needed.

Edit: Just checked, and the ARRL site has me listed as a VE now... god help us all!

Adam, where did you go on ARRL website to check your VE status? ARRL has mine all screwed up and I'd like to see the data they're working off of.
