I have a question that I can't just wrap my brain around. Anybody able to explain this to me?

Radio <--> Battery <--> DC Power Supply --> AC Power

The radio requires 22 amps DC at 13.8V +/-10%.
Battery is 65 amp hour with approx. 12.7V fully charged.
AC to DC power supply is rated 10 amps with 12 amps peak at 13.8V output.

So, my thought is to run the power supply to keep a charge on the battery and provide 13.8V while using the radio.

When I key up at full power and draw 22 amps, will that cause an overload on the power supply or voltage dips from 13.8 to 12.7?

I don't think so. The battery will act as a buffer to make up the difference. On the flip side, you are recharging the battery with 10 amps so long term may not be the way to go.
