I bought a few Icom HF radios at a local auction and have been using them portable whenever i go work in the bush. I enjoy the digimodes i.e. PSK and SSTV etc but did not have a spare interface to take along. i was to lazy do dismantle the entire shack everytime so SSB was the only option.

so with the break between christmas and new year i had some time to homebrew and this is what i built:

as you can see there is not much to this, 2 isolation transformers for the audio, a photocouple for the TX and that is it.
i did not want the same schlep i have in my shack, where the audio and the tx go through the mic plug and the AF goes through a headphone plug so i did some research and found that icom has a AUX plug on the back that gives all the features! so only one cable to the radio, mic, headphone and ptt (rs232 Comport) to the laptop, that it!
