Crown King Chili Cookoff

Any one heading up to Crown King on April 16th? Think that is the chili cookoff date. Will be getting an early start with a couple of friends.

Just thought I would close this out with a little report. Didn't break camp until after 8 so got a later start than I was hoping for. Tons of quads on the trail. Not too many 4X4 vehicles that I saw anyway. We were just a group of two Jeeps and my Tacoma. One jeep and I did all the obstacles, the other took one or two of the bypasses. No hams in our group but me. Actually didn't see or hear any hams on the trail that morning. One Jeep bent a front leaf spring into a hockey stick but he wheeled it up to Crown King. Had Mark, a local up there, help him straighten it out. Worked well. Drove it home the next day without a problem.
It was nice to be involved in the Chili deal. About a dozen chilies to sample. One of the wives of our group won second prize....$150 or so, maybe less, but a cool result for a hot chili!
