My name is Jerry; I have been in radio since 2009 and wheeling a bit longer. I have been involved in organized wheeling for over ten years as the Treasurer, earlier as the Secretary for Southwest Four Wheel Drive Association, a six state association of clubs. Also on the local level of Las Cruces Four Wheel Drive Club, past president, treasurer, board member, wet nurse, bottle washer, whatever. I have a 4X4 Dodge truck, a TJ Rubicon and an older CJ-7.
I am also in a search & rescue (Mesilla Valley Search & Rescue) unit here in south central New Mexico. I am on the ATV, ground and Jeep teams. I do have two atvs for this and for play time, both are Polaris, 500 (2005) Sportsman and an 800 (2008) X2 touring Sportsman.
I am currently trying to get better acquainted with the radio side of my world. In my TJ I have a Yaesu 8900R, I just ordered a FTM 10R from HRO and I also have a few hand held units, VX5R and a VX7R. My wife is ham as well.
My disclaimer, if I do something dumb let me know, that seems to be, historically, how I learn things. 73's and hopefully I'll see you in the back country and not because you are lost.
