Default Montana Mountain Sat. Aug. 14th

Please join me for a leisurely sunset drive in the beautiful sonoran desert. Enjoy the cool night air and see the lights of the city from 5500 Feet! Talk to stations many miles away on 5 watts VHF simplex! This run is sure to please even the most discriminating 4X4 Ham operator.

    WHEN - Sat. Aug. 14th 2010 1600 hrs (4PM)
WHERE - Meet at US60 and the Queen Valley turn off. Make the turn off of the 60 and we will be a ways down on the road.
    REQUIREMENTS - 4X4 Stock Friendly
WHAT TO BRING - Drinks, Snacks and Dinner to have along the trail. Radios, binoculars, cameras, etc.
WHAT TO EXPECT - Easy drive with some moderate climbs. Stop at the summit to work simplex and grab a bite to eat. Head down to some sharp downhill switchbacks and then if we have time stop at the stone cabin at night... spooky!
Last time we met at 6 and got off the trail at midnite. So this time we should get off the trail around 10PM. From there a typical hour long drive home.

I work a day shift that day, so I may be a little late. If I am, I will catch up as soon as possible.

I've been wanting to do this run for quite a while. I would go, but I have other plans that can't be changed. Maybe next time.

Good evening Randy. I tried to send a message earlier, not sure it went through. I am going to try to make it, I live in the West Valley, so that will make it a journey. Look forward to meeting some of the other member.

Ok... I'm out. Until I fix the vibes I'm getting it is staying in the garage. Have a good trip. I'll have to monitor simplex to see if I can hear you at the top.

I'd gladly tag along if anyone has an open seat. Someone said that this trail was really tame, but I have a feeling that my 2008 Focus would be cursing at me.
