Kenwood D710 with Garmin Oregon 400t

I thought of this when I saw this thread in the For Sale section about using the Geosat Avmap Tactical GPS unit with APRS:

If you have the Kenwood D710 you can also use a Garmin Oregon 400t to do the same thing as the Geosat Avmap (routing to and viewing other APRS units on the map).

I use an Oregon 450, with my D710, one of the reasons I went with the D710 was that I already had the Oregon and didn't have to buy another GPS.

I'm doing a simular thing with my D710A but I'm using a Garmin Nuvi 350.
