    Default Cruise Moab-Rising Sun

Was wondering if there are any folks out there that are going to the Rising Sun Cruise Moab event in May. I plan to be there and maybe meeting people going up would give me a chance to caravan or communicate on the trip. The Rising Sun Club has a lot of hams in it and it seems most people on the trails have dual band radios.
So, if you are planning to go to Cruise Moab perhaps we can link up.
BTW, my son, Stephen Rudy, KD0FDS, called into the net the other night. He was visiting me from Denver. He is the trail boss this year for Cruise Moab.

I won't be able to make it, but can give you a stack of fliers if you wanted to hand a few out. Let me know and have fun!

Rising Sun friend of Stephen here, so that's fun to hear K2ZZQ! Say, Virgil, does the repeater you guys use have IRLP? I dunno why I didn't think about linking to a repeater here in Denver.

    Hi Virgil,
Sure, I would be happy to take some flyers to Moab next month. I live and work in Scottsdale and would be happy to pick flyers up from you anywhere.

Different subject. Last night I called into the net but did a bonehead but educational move. I tried to tx from my truck parked in my garage...with a real short antenna. So sorry I had to send my call sign twice. But I learned. Next time I will put on a taller antenna and park the truck outside.

I would love to go to CM, but the timing is wrong for my business almost every year.

Hi Virgil, still available to pick up some flyers if you want me to take them to Moab. Just tell me where and when. I work at Tatum and Cactus.

Leaving for Moab and the Cruise Moab event on Wednesday morning at about 5. Anyone heading up that way give me a shout out. Maybe we can talk on the road.

Had a great trip to Moab. It is really fun when you get out there and don't break anything. Did crunch my rear bumper some. Dumb move. Now looking for a stock chrome bumper for a 2001 Toyota Tacoma. Anyone? Anyone?

The Cruise Moab committee from the Rising Sun Toyota 4X4 club out of Denver put on another excellent event. This time the weather was perfect. High in the mid seventies and nights in the high fifties. No rain or snow.

One of the highlights of this event, if you are not familiar with it, is the dinner and raffle. Lots of good prizes. I snagged an ARB folding chair. Pretty nice....and will last for a good long time.

If you are a Toyota family, and this is a family event, consider Cruise Moab 2012 next May. Many hams in the club and many will be on the trails in Moab.
